@ Sam, I’ve owned cats all my life. I have two now. They don’t really care about the Christmas tree. Some cat’s just aren’t interested. It is perfectly possible to own cats and never see them show interest in a Christmas tree.
My Dad had this trick with kitties and trees… every year (if it was a new kitten) we would set up the tree and set little kitten in the top and let them tumble through the branches to the bottom. This gave kitty the message to leave the tree alone. And it only needed to be done the one time(smart kitty) and Mom was very thankful that kitty didn’t play with the ornaments and break them. I passed this along to several friends and they also did this and saved their tree from kitty wrecks…
I haven’t had a tree for the last couple of years. When I did have one my cats never seemed bothered. The occasional paw-swipe at the low decorations but even that was half-hearted.
I have 2 new kittens this year though and they ‘kill’ anything and everything! Maybe I’ll risk having a tree next year

“I did not know that cats love Christmas trees.”
Clearly, you’ve never owned a cat.
