Championship living sculptures in Evpatoria 2010 (Crimea, Ukraine)

These works of art were not painted on canvas as you might expect, but on glass. They are the artworks of Elsa Kolesnikova.  These drawings were made in watercolor and sealed with enamel. It seems that due to the complex technique of such pieces, any error made will require the artist to start afresh. Also, it is impossible to duplicate any of these pieces, which makes each work one of a kind.

The beauty of painting on glass is also the added effect of light. The paintings change in color tones depending on the light that is upon the glass. It is often said of these glass art pieces that they bring a sense of warmth and fire to those who look upon them.

These driftwood horse sculptures are the creation of artist Heather Jansch, she lives and works in West Country of England. It’s  really amazing to know that one can use driftwood to create such beautiful work of art. And what we have here is one such amazing creative work of art by Jansch who managed to put these branches together to form such an incredible art.

Artist Octavio Ocampo was born in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico on February 28, 1943. He was educated at the Fine Art Institute, Mexico City and the San Francisco Art Institute, graduating in 1974. He has been exhibiting since 1972.

   His work is in major collections in Mexico, the National Palace and the collections of the last three presidents. In Europe that great collector, the late Florence Gould, had a landscape of the New York skyline from her apartment, at her house at Cap D’Antibes; HM The King of Spain is also a great admirer. Ocampo is the master of his métier and unique among today’s painters.

   Ocampo now works and resides in Tepoztlan, north of Mexico City, it is considered to be one of the most magical places on earth.

   He works primarily in the metamorphic style – using a technique of superimposing and juxtaposing realistic and figurative details within the images that he creates.

Who says ya can’t make something cool with translucent brown tape. Mixed media artist Mark Khaisman  layers several pieces of tape on Plexiglas panels to create these mesmerizing rustic illuminations with textures much like a knife painting with broad wide strokes. Very cool, time lapse like retro, and mysterious.

The packaging tape paintings of Mark Khaisman sell for as much as $10,000.

However, the tattoos aren’t simply artistic adornments.  This interesting piece is actually a depiction of the oil spill tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico. The tattoos feature birds and various other animals that have been affected by the tragedy, making this tattooed baby art piece by Jason Clay Lewis truly thought-provoking.

The model is made of glass, Plexiglas, moss, twigs, salt, colored paper and dry ice.

This model is made of artificial fur (field), cotton (clouds).
Light effect was created simply shift the white balance.
