Art topiary

Topiary is the horticultural practice of training live perennial plants by clipping the foliage and twigs of trees, shrubs and subshrubs to develop and maintain clearly defined shapes, perhaps geometric or fanciful; the term also refers to plants which have been shaped in this way. As an art form it is a type of living sculpture.

Niege B. Alves: dancing Plague of 1518

From Elaine’s stiff dance in Seinfeld to Napoleon Dynamite’s epic moves to Jamiroquai’s ‘Canned Heat,’ Niege Borges Alves‘ has immortalized some of pop culture’s most infamous choreography in a poster series entitled “Dancing Plague of 1518”. The artwork was inspired by a dancing mania that occurred in 1518 in a French town called Stransbourg where people magically decided to bust a move.
