I love all of these! The wizard of Oz one is great. The lion wanted ‘courage’. He needed to get some nuts. But wasn’t Goldilocks sattisfied with the Baby’s Porridge? Rather than mommy bear’s?
its suppose to be a nose with whiskers. like a lion. lion=courage.
its inverted heart is suppose to mimic the heart on the left, giving the poster a sense of symmetry.
@Carl: Goldilocks WAS satisfied by the baby’s porridge. That’s why the picture shows that papa bear’s is too hot and momma bear’s is too cold, but baby bear’s is just right.
Okay, for all you idiotic morons, the Wizard of Oz one is showing the lion’s MUZZLE. Ya know, like the mouth of the lion? And the whiskers. You are all stupid dumbasses. IT’S NOT BALLS, GTF OVER IT.
Alice you’re retarded idiot!!! Why would anyone would be show lions nose??? Don’t you get the symbolic?! Offcourse it’s balls. Lion is a caracter who miss courage-”balls” and that’s what it represent, as long as The Tin Man miss his heart and The Scarecrow miss his brain-”bulb”.
GTF OVER IT or watch movie again!
wow. I seriously doubt the artist was “being symbolic” in illustrating a nutsack to represent courage. Although it is amusingly striking to the viewer, it is neither sellable nor flattering to an artist’s ability to convey a message through minimal means… at least in any intelligent way. I honestly want it to be a hairy sack because it is hilarious but judging based on ALL the other works I would have to agree it is probably meant to be a lion’s nose. The reasoning behind the shape (and the silly likeness) is to provide a sense of symmetry opposing the heart. I am not the artist, so this is just a theory. :p
Thought I was gonna be clever and say that the lion’s image looks like a ball sack, but everyone else noticed too. You bastards. Also, come to think of it, I think that may have been on purpose.

For any of the retards that can’t figure out the Wizard of Oz one, it IS a ballsack, implying that he’s trying to find courage, i.e. some BALLS.
August 2nd, 2011 at 11:32 pm
That Oz one is just strange.
Surely he could used something different to represent the courage, maybe a shield or something/

I think it IS supposed to be balls. The lion needed courage. Having courage = having balls.

Either way it still looks like a pair of hairy balls.

It’s both a lion’s nose and a lions hairy balls, it’s a dual meaning AND it provides symmetry with the heart. That’s why it’s so brilliant.

great collection of tales and minimalism keep it up.

August 4th, 2011 at 6:45 pm
It is supposed to look like his balls, because he needed a pair

Wizard of Oz looks more suggestive than was probably intended. Minimalist posters aren’t anything new…

The Little red riding hood poster was copied off of the Broadway revival of into the woods in 2002. kind of annoying..
